Chasing Life

I first want to start by apologizing…for some reason word press was not working and every time I thought I was just sending out the “Sedona Experience” I was sending it out to all outlets.  My blog is hollysloveolution.wordpress.com  I don’t know how I was putting the @ symbol in there.

So now that I am getting somewhat grounded back into life, I realize how going away, leaving the space your live your “daily” life is so awakening. You get to experience a new environment, meet new people, and become more conscious. This is really how we should consciously live our lives everyday, but we get attached. We get attached to the way we like things, our coffee, our exercise regimen, and we begin to live almost in a slight trance. It is actually quite fascinating.

While I was in Sedona, I learned a lot about hypnosis and the conscious/subconscious mind. Something as simple as a presenter videoing themselves in front of a library of books to empower the suggestion of intelligence, power, and respect. Once you are aware you start to see these suggestions everywhere, they are soo subtle, but powerful.

Hollywood also helps us out with all kinds of suggestions in life. Matter of fact, watching t.v. is considered a light trance which is why marketing efforts are so high and specific to their audience.  I love to settle at night with bad tv, although some shows have just gotten crazy. I think it is important to dumb down a bit, but how dumb it the question.

Recently, Hollywood has produced a few movies that are brilliant suggestions. The first “The Lego Movie”. It is an amazing movie written to awaken its watchers. It is about “Lord Business” (The government) hypnotizing the entire population. I don’t want to share too much because I believe that it is worth the watch whether you have kids or not. The suggestions of awakening are quite amazing and my heart was full as Sawyer shared what he thought the movie was about.

This quote sums it up!

“Once the soul awakens, the search begins and you can never go back. From then on, you are inflamed with a special longing that will never again let you linger in the lowlands of complacency and partial fulfillment. The eternal makes you urgent. You are loath to let compromise or the threat of danger hold you back from striving toward the summit of fulfillment.”
― John O’Donohue, Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom

On the complete opposite side, there is a new series called “Chasing Life” I thought it to be an interesting title as I am sure we have all felt like we are chasing life at one point or another. However, when I watched the first episode I was just dizzy. It is about a young girl who accidentally finds out she has Leukemia. She decides that she is not going to tell anyone because no one can handle this and her life has just gotten on track with work and love. I felt my belly sink as I thought how ridiculous a scenario to be. The fact that they make an illness just seem like a bad day. The suggestion that we should just accept the word “cancer” like brushing our teeth. This was so unrealistic I couldn’t even get past the first 10 minutes.

As I have shared before the definition of the word cancer:

1 a malignant and invasive growth or tumor, especially one originating in epithelium, tending to recur after excision and to metastasize to other sites or any disease characterized by such growths.
2.
any evil condition or thing that spreads destructively; blight.

I am pretty confident when I got the phone call on Oct. 06, 2011 I was not going to act as though I didn’t have time in my life, but I certainly was not going to let it define me. My journey was a gift from God to awaken to the truths around me. A journey that took me back to my soul to learn some amazing lessons. Life will give us these gifts, the greatest is to “wake up”. This doesn’t mean you are further ahead, more enlightened it just means you are connected to the simple fact that we are one with God and each other.

Many blessings,

Love Holly
